Crayola Makes...Scented Nail Polish?

How random! And kinda cute! Has anyone heard anything about these? I was kicking around Rite Aid the other night, and came across these Crayola scented nail polishes. I thought - what an odd collaboration.

But at the same time, Crayola is known for colors - crayons, markers, pencils, etc. They also have scented products as well - I mean, who didn't have smelly markers when you were in grade school? So maybe it's not as crazy as I originally thought.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a wedding to go to on Saturday, and needed to paint my nails desperately. I already had this Ulta polish and was wearing a black strapless dress, so I thought the green would go nicely. I've been going a bit crazy with my nail looks lately - chucks of glitter, hearts, nail stickers, etc so this color looked...tame.

I love mixing new and old items with my wardrobe. I'm a sucker for jewelry, especially vintage jewelry. This ring and unique clutch were given to me by my great aunt before she passed away. I always admired her accessories - classic, timeless, beautiful items that would pull her look together. Even in her later years, she would come to our family parties with exquisite pearl necklaces, broaches and rings. I was fortunate enough to be given this ring and clutch, and always smile when I wear them. I like thinking about how each item traveled through the world before it got to me. In addition - they are great conversation starters!

You guys like them!? I wanted to do a fun/crazy party nail for 4th of July weekend! I've been favoring wild nails lately, so I figured this glittery blue was perfect for the holiday.

I bought all of these polishes at Target on a whim (I know, surprise surprise, right?) I'm doing a few fun things for the long weekend - going to the vineyards for wine tastings, relaxing at the pool and going to a BBQ. I'm really happy with the way they came out, they remind me of little fireworks!

New Ulta and Nicole by OPI colors! =)

I decided that I wanted to go with a dramatic nail look last night, and here are the results! I feel in love with the silver one and the huge glitter flecks when I saw it at Ulta. But since it's mostly sheer, I wanted to put a bold color underneath to offset the silver. Enter: Green With Envy. This green is almost black with a green/gold sheen. It looked really pretty alone, but I was hellbent on trying the silver, so I tried them both =)

I love this! This is my first Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail polish and I really like it. In a fit of rage, I ripped off all of my gel nails. One broke, so instead of just letting it be I took them all off, causing my nails to look like crap. To cover up the creases (even after I filed and buffed them they still have dents) I wanted an obnoxious nail polish as a distraction. My boyfriend's favorite color is green, so I wanted to do a neon/lime green polish - he loved it!

The Insta-Dri really does live up to its name - I have trouble not touching anything (texting, reading, etc) after I paint my nails, so a polish that dries fast is a must. It's weird having short nails again, but I think i'm going to give my nails a break and keep the gels off for a while.

NARS-Y NAILS

Happy Pink Feet!

Guess i'm having a pink moment, huh? Strange, considering my wardrobe consists of mainly black and i'm not really a cutesy pink kinda chick (not that there's anything wrong with that, I just prefer skulls over hearts ha!)

Anyway, this NARS nail lacquer in SCHIAP was given to me by my mother. Her skintone is a lot lighter than mine, and she said it was too...well...pink for her. I have more olive skin, so I think it works for me. Not sure if I would have picked this color out for myself, but now that I have it I don't mind it. I generally go for a darker pedicure color, like a blood red, but this is a nice change up for the summer months! =)

Milani Holographic Nail Lacquer HD

Glitzy and fun! So after my nail sticker debacle (click if you haven't read the review), I still wanted silver nails. So I ripped off my nail stickers and went to CVS for some cheap thrills. I picked up this Milani nail polish in HD and the results are fun and glittery! It did take 3 coats to achieve this color payoff, but I can't stop looking at my nails because I love them so much. (the little things in life, right?)

What do you guys think?

MORE Shatter Polish from OPI?!?!

I am geeking out HARD right now. Just saw this photo on a friend's facebook page, and I am shaking just a little out of excitement!!! As seen in my earlier post, I am so obsessed with Black Shatter, and have gotten so many compliments on it.

Seems like the new colors will be available sometime in May, and I hope that it's true. Can't wait to get my hands on other colors! Such a cool idea, well done OPI.

Black Shatter Masterpiece

I am so in love with OPI Black Shatter nail polish! If you're following me on Twitter, you've probably heard me whining about how badly I wanted this nail polish. WELL, I finally got it and it was so worth the wait!

I purchased Black Shatter in a salon in NYC, and the chick who worked there gave me pretty good advice on how to best apply it. To start, choose a base shade that is bright or metallic - the more punchy the shade the better! I used SEPHORA by OPI's Queen of Everything. Allow the base coat to dry completely, and don't use a top coat at all.

Next, apply a thin layer of Black Shatter directly on top of the base shade. I've found the thinner the layer, the better so the polish can "crack" and give you that cool stained-glass effect.

I'm eager to dry different shades under it! My boyfriend and I kept admiring how cool and fun it looked. What do you guys think?
