The Attack of the Bronzers

Too much bronzer makes me want to vomit. There is nothing attractive about having a spotty, blotchy, shimmery, sparkly face. It looks unnatural, and you aren't fooling anyone. In my eyes, you might as well look like this:

Remember Colored Mascara?

It's back with a vengeance! When I was a teenager, I couldn't get enough of the stuff - the bolder the better! My basketball team's colors were blue and gold. What better way to show team spirit then some blue-tinted lashes? Maybe a bit of HAIR mascara (remember that too? oh god).
Despite my teenage overdose with colored mascara, I'm still very interested in all the options that are out there now. Every brand under the sun is churning out a rainbow of shades - Dior, Estee Lauder, MAC, Urban Decay, NYX, and so on.
So is there a way to wear these without looking silly or clownish? Or should colored mascara be saved for nights out on the town?
Makeup Enthusiast Interview - Melissa Marie Edition
I'm starting a new segment on Makeup Majesty, and the very lovely (and sometimes sassy) Melissa Marie has been volunteered to be my first victim muhahaha!

1. Top 5 Makeup Items EVER
2. If I could only bring ONE makeup item on vacation
Bare Minerals Original Mineral Makeup - I really hope that they never STOP producing this. I will never go back to another foundation ever again. It covers up my red spots and blemishes, and really gives me an even one color look. Especially when complimented with Warmth (the bronzer that comes in the Bare Minerals starter kit) really makes your cheeks pop- in a subtle way! It doesn't clog my pores, is light- and doesn't streak or come off when I sweat. Its a must-have, LADIES!
3. Biggest Makeup Pet peeve on others
Uneven eyeliner on the top lid of the eye. When one eye has eyeliner thicker than the other, I go BANANAS! Oh, and when women don't apply their eyeliner close enough to their lashes- and you see that gap of skin between lashes and eyeliner makes me levitate out of my seat.
4. Thoughts on permanent makeup...
One of my colleagues from South Africa has permanent eyeliner, and she loves it! I asked her if it hurt and the natural response obviously was "yes", but she said it was TOTALLY worth it. She says it is very easy to get up in the morning, get out of the shower and voila- your makeup is already done. However, I am too neurotic to have something permanent on my face. Also, I am an eyebrow nazi (for lack of a better term) and I could never part with my already fabulous eyebrows. Permanent lip liner? No. Although I have 3 tattoos right now, none are near my face, and I'd like to keep it that way.
5. Favorite makeup brand overall
I'm an equal opportunity employer and I can't really pick ONE favorite. I have a lot of favorites- I can't pick just one. ALTHOUGH- I just recently tried a new mascara by Estee Lauder - Sumptuous Extreme - and its coming to the top of my obsessions. Sorry, Mr. Dior.

No but seriously - the new segment will include interviews with a variety of my friends/family/others to get their views on makeup, beauty and everything in between! So, instead of just getting my perspective on things, you'll be able to see what other makeup lovers are...well, loving.
As for Melissa, her and I graduated college together, and now live down the street from each other outside of NYC. Nights together are spent hysterically laughing, guini fist pumping in the car, splurging at Ulta on any and everything, lots of cooking and baking cupcakes, and the occasional Houlihan's antics. Mel is one of the only people I know that can go out without makeup and be perfectly confident - and look fly doing it! She's sharp, and will cut you in half with her words if need be. But to me, she is one of the greatest friends I could ask for and I just want to squeeze her! OK enough with the mushy shit -- Mel is a tough critic on makeup (as everyone should be) so here is what went down - interview time!
Fly sans makeup!
1. Top 5 Makeup Items EVER
- Bare Minerals Original Mineral Makeup (Medium tone, including Warmth and Mineral Veil)
- Dior SHOW BLACKOUT Mascara
- Bed Head eyeshadow (all colors)
- Almay hypoallergenic retractable black eye liner (for my water line)
- Cargo Swimmables eye pencils (I hate you for this one, Mel)

The Biggest Lip Gloss Applicator EVER!

Pop Lip Gloss (and princess nails still intact)!
Behold - King of the Lip Gloss Applicators. A good friend in the industry gifted me this monster - just look at it! I'm used to a MAC or NARS lip gloss wand - standard doe-tip applicator or a mini brush - nothing to get excited about.
BUT THIS...
It's amazing! You can do the your lips in two swipes - one top and one bottom - and you're done. The tip covers the whole lip, allowing for a perfectly even application. Not to mention, the formula is very silky and not sticky or tacky. It's so fun to use and I love the bright packaging.
I'd love to see more lip glosses follow suit and opt for a bigger applicator like this one...

Does a teen boy really need to be photoshopped like this? Yikes.
I'm guessing every tween girl (and some moms) are going to run out and buy it anyway though, right? Baby baby baby ohhhh.....
Lady Gaga's NEW Rolling Stones Cover

She also seems to be sticking to what she said, and not wearing any mascara or falsies. Not sure if it's my favorite look for the eyes, but I do dig the hair and lips =)

Pretty Princess Nails!

Pink with tons of glitter!!

A close up

Yay!

And purple toes!
This weekend, I was gearing up for a party – a Jersey Shore themed party to be exact! Therefore, nails and toes had to be done before seemingly gallons of vodka were consumed (see: monster hangover in the dictionary, and my photo should be there).
I wanted to get something different on my nails, so I chose this crazy/fun party pink! It’s by OPI, but not sure what the shade is because I picked it from the nail salon. It’s totally not me, but it’s a cute change up to the usual French manicure. Same with the toes – instead of a dark red which is my go-to toe color, I opted for a bright purple instead.
What nail colors are you guys loving for Spring?

Body Painting Promo Girls – How to Make Money Getting Your Body Painted For Beverage Promotions
Major Beverage Manufacturers are getting creative and are body painting attractive promo girls to boost their sales. Painting their brand’s logo on a sexy promo girls body has been boosting their brand’s image like no other marketing tool ever used. Miller lite Girls are getting their bodies painted and getting more attention for the Miller lite brand than ever before. Have you happened to see how beautiful a girl looks after she has had her body painted?

These Beverage manufacturers are budgeting millions of dollars towards this type of advertising.
They see the return on investment as an unmeasurable success. I did a casting in Hollywood for 4 girls to get their bodies painted for a major liquor and I had over 200 girls show up. The amount of beautiful girls in Hollywood that wanted to have their bodies painted was astounding. I even had girls that wanted to get their bodies painted for free.
If you would like the opportunity to have your body painted for a major liquor company and make up to $300 per hour, you must have a great body and be willing to expose your body to a crowd or people.
Orange You Glad...
Orange makeup trends are EVERYWHERE - from luxury cosmetics, to mass cosmetics, catwalks and sidewalks. Here are some of my favorite orange things for Spring!

The most moisturizing lipstick I've ever owned! Looks a bit pink in the photo, but it's actually little orange. It's by Kiss cosmetics - Just-Kissed Lipstick in Golden Orange. It glides on so silky and smooth, feels like you're wearing lip balm. Beyond obsessed.
This is what it looks like on lips, again it's more orange in person than in the photo! I love wearing it with a nice coat of mascara and a dusting of blush - it looks very fresh!
These three items have been my skincare savior to beat the rainy weather blues! The company is called grassroots and you'll never guess where it's sold...Kohl's! Not my usual "go-to" store for skincare or beauty, but believe me - these items are amazing! Everything is Vitamin C (large jar is the face creme, smaller jar is the eye creme, tube is the brightening serum). When I use them in the morning, the citrus smell wakes me up and it feels so fresh on the face. Def worth a try chicks!

Adult Body Painting – What’s the Fuss About?
Did you ever want to be a cowboy? Maybe a rain forests? What about trading your skin in to become a seductive tigress ready to pounce on fresh meat? Well, whatever your adult fantasy may be, adult body painting may be the temporary and fun solution.

However, don’t misunderstand. Not all body painting means having to get nude. In fact, any small portion of your skin can be painted into a beautiful piece. For instance, many people who want to see what a tattoo would look like on the arm, hand, foot, shoulder, neck, or elsewhere often choose to have their body painted first to make sure they will like it for the rest of their lives. Others just appreciate the art and have paintings done on parts of their body for display or to be kept private. Whatever the case may be, there really is not a limit to what a person can have painted on their body. A butterfly or the Sears Tower, or anything in between.
Body painting typically will last for a couple of days and can easily be removed. Because body painting is not permanent, you have the option to become many things over the course of time. The only thing that should be holding you up from getting painted is choosing what you want to be next!
